Out Picking Wild Flowers

KAITLYN FLIS

View My Fine Arts Multimedia Portfolio

As you will notice, there is quite a variety within my portfolio. I guess I may still be seeking my niche when it comes to painting but I do enjoy trying my hand at different subjects and mediums.  Though I have to say that I truly enjoy panting images of the Qu'Appelle Valley. It is where my cabin is located, and really feels like home.  It's an added bonus when one of these scenes can be painted on to an old wooden water ski!

Enjoy!

Water Skis

ACRYLIC PAINT

I have a love for the Qu'Appelle Valley and spending time at my cabin.  Over the years we have spent countless hours climbing the hills, relaxing in the yard, and playing in the water.  Taking old wooden water skis, removing the fins and boots, adding a layer of gesso, and then creating a lake or valley image on them bring together all of these memories.  this has become one of my favorite materials to paint on.

I've recently become intrigued with painting the fine details of the living things around us.  Painting focused, still life paintings is both frustrating and rewarding, and I am in love with the the finished results.  These are really pushing me to focus on my lights and darks, colours, brush strokes, and attention to detail.  Enjoy!

Architectural Study of Modernismo and Buildings with Movement

MULTI-MEDIA

Before pursuing my post secondary studies in architecture, I did an art concentration on buildings that captured movement.  Starting in the past with modernismo styled architecture in Europe and moving forward in time to buildings and structures found in Regina.  This grouping of pieces was very interesting because each structure was uniquie.  It also gave me a chance to study different architects and try out a variety of mediums.

Workshop Paintings

THESE PAINTINGS ARE NOT FOR SALE.  These items have been entirely painted by me but the concepts were created by other Artists. Workshops are a great way to learn new techniques and skills as well as the perfect time to pick the creative brains of very talented local artists.
